PLANNING PERMIT PROCESSES

No doubt, not everybody understand the processes involve in the procurement of Planning Permit from the State Government. Here are some steps to be followed.

1. Pre assessment vetting of the Architectural and structural drawings.- Here the Architectural and Structural drawings are taking to the Planning Office for screening and thereafter assessment.

2. Granting of assessment fees/ bills for payment.- once the assessment fees has been given, ensure that you collect a payment advice and application form. Proceed the the designated Bank and make your payment. Collect your receipt immediately.

3. Joint site visit with the an officer from planning office. The visit is to carry out visual appraisal of your site. Here, the officer will need to inspect Location, Beacon number if it corresponds with the one on the Survey Plan, proximity to Natural and Artificial features, Accessibility, taking photographs of the site, Sketches etc.

4. Registration of the application – Application is thereafter registered with all the required documents and the processing continue until the approval is granted.

5.OFFICIAL ACTION ON THE FILE INCLUDES.

Site inspection report; Charting, using the submitted Survey Plan and report; structural drawings approvals; Clearances of all payments and Tax; from other Ministries and Agencies etc.

6. Ensure that you check on the application periodically, so as to attend to any queries that could be raised. To guide against any communication barrier that may occur.

7. You will be informed once your approval or Planning Permit is ready for collection.
